Before you start, make sure you add the keplr extension to your browser.

  1. Make a new account / address for testing. Perhaps even a separate browser profile.
  2. Add devnet to your keplr wallet's list of blockchains using https://wallet.agoric.app/.
  3. Get some BLD from the #faucet in Agoric discord using !faucet delegate YOUR_ADDRESS
  4. Use https://testnet.ping.pub/agoric-devnet/staking to stake some BLD
  5. Use https://testnet.ping.pub/agoric-devnet/gov to vote! (proposals to appear)

I plan to try all this out in office hours 20 Apr make a short video. Wish me luck!

RUN Protocol Preview Launch on devnet Fri 22 Apr

Agoric/agoric-sdk#5062 is a plan to launch the RUN protocol contracts on devnet by vote of BLD holders ( devnet BLD holders, of course).
The community is invited to participate!

I managed to record getting it set up and staking:

The next step would be to vote on a proposal. I haven't managed to make a proposal yet, but if you can stake on devnet, you should be all set to vote.

@dckc : What's the ask here? To add the information contained in this bug to the docs?

Hm. Maybe. Or maybe a github discussion or a post to community.agoric.com is a better place for it? Do you have thoughts on whether "how to use devnet" is in scope of the docs?

Using keplr for voting is pretty well documented elsewhere... The one trick is adding devnet by way of wallet.agoric.app .

Hm... I guess our faucet isn't covered in standard cosmos voting/staking guides. But the details here are out of date. The faucet is a web form now.

If using devnet is a common use case, then it should probably go in the docs. If it's an edge case, then it would probably be unhelpful clutter in the docs & should go instead in... I dunno. A blog post maybe? Not sure.
