Installing Movecraft & Getting started

Server Setup

  1. Have a running/fresh install (That's run at least once) of Spigot/Bukkit
  2. Download the latest version of Movecraft from Bukkit Dev or the Latest development Build
  3. Place the movecraft.jar in your /plugins/ directory, and restart bukkit/spigot.
  4. Download the .craft files demo pack
  5. Extract the .craft files from MoveCraft.zip into your plugins/Movecraft/types directory.
  6. There is no movecraft reload; so we need to restart our server again to pick up the .craft files, the craft files will be listed in the console during restart.

Getting started in-game, craft setup

I highly suggest watching the video tutorials for craft building instructions, video tutorials are listed on the video tutorials wiki page.

  1. Load Minecraft, Join your server and build a ship, Pick a grassy open spot at first, Start with a basic craft that is made just from wood planks and wool. (Read the limitations in your Craft file templates
  2. Place a sign on this craft type, on the fist line write the craft name, if you have used the downloaded demo pack the craft names can be found listed on the pre made craft files wiki page
  3. Using your PilotTool defined in the config.yml (defaults to a stick), right click on the sign you created. You should see "Successfully piloted craft!".
  4. Now aim in the direction you want to go with the PilotTool and right click, you should be able to move in any direction as long as you are not obstructed.

Advanced in-game features

Once you have a working craft, you can add more features to improve gameplay.

  1. Add a sign that says [helm], right click this with an empty fist to turn this into a control wheel. Left clicking helm with an empty hand rotates the ship left, Right clicking rotates the ship right.
  2. Add another sign with "release" on the top line (No speech marks) This will let you /release the ship to quickly make changes or leave your craft.
