How can I delete/update the links?

How could I instruct the removal of a link after it has been deleted? I'm trying the method below, but I'm not successful. Did I do something wrong?

This doesn't work for me. I want reverse action. When the referenced document is deleted, all its references throughout the database are either removed or set to other values.

Using the function mentioned above only works for dealing with the links in the document itself being deleted, correct?

Yes, only for the document itself. Be careful when using DELETE_LINKS, as it can delete documents you do not intend to. I recommend manually deleting the document.
