KER Vessel Data tied to the frame of the root part (KSP does with the part having control) #123

Vessel angles shown by KER (1.1.2.8) are same as what KSP (1.2.2. build 1622) shows only as long as the orientation of the root part stays the same as the part having control. Could be uncommon to notice, as vessel angles are not shown on any of KER presets by default.

Please note the pictures:

  1. here (http://imgur.com/y3Ra6wO) a vessel built with a cupola as root part. KSP Navball, as confirmed by KSP AeroGUI readings, is oriented with pitch +90°, heading = roll = 0°. KER readings on a custom window showing vessel angles match the above.
  2. here (http://imgur.com/UTiS55V) after control was transferred to the MK1 command pod. KER readings stay the same (orientation still matches the root part), but KSP (both Navball and AeroGUI) are now oriented with the pod: heading = 90°, pitch = roll = 0°.

I believe this issue has no direct implications on gameplay. However, use of an incorrect frame of reference may be a symptom of other problems (therefore the case for reporting).

Thanks for reporting this, I think it should be a pretty trivial fix. I'll take a look when I get a bit of time...
