Slowness of Octave 8.3.0 Jupyter Kernel after updation #235

We recently updated Ocatve 5.2.0 ---> Octave 8.3.0 kernel for Jupyter notebook (server for students) and also installed (https://gnu-octave.github.io/packages/). To our surprise, we see that OCtave has become very slow, although the code is running fine. We have installed it. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Does it run normally if you don't install those packages? If so, can you identify which one is causing the issue?
