ChurchCRM installation for Ubuntu Server

Install the needed package

sudo apt-get update -y
sudo apt-get upgrade -y
sudo apt-get install -y apache2 curl gawk libapache2-mod-php mariadb-client mariadb-server php php-bcmath php-cli php-curl php-dev php-gd php-intl php-mbstring php-mysql php-soap php-xml php-zip unzip  wget

Setup MYSQL

• Set this accordingly to your own preference

sudo mysql_secure_installtion

• create a database for ChurchCRM

CREATE DATABASE churchcrm;
CREATE USER 'churchcrmuser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'a';
GRANT ALL ON churchcrm.* TO 'churchcrmuser'@'localhost' WITH GRANT OPTION;
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
EXIT;

Installing ChurchCRM

• download the latest zip file n unzip
• change the x to the latest version

wget https://github.com/ChurchCRM/CRM/releases/download/x.x.0/ChurchCRM-x.x.x.zip
unzip ChurchCRM.zip
sudo mv churchcrm /var/www/churchcrm/
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/churchcrm/
sudo chmod -R 755 /var/www/churchcrm/

Edit php.ini settings

• located in /etc/php/X.X/apache2/php.ini where X.X is version
• make sure to have these settings

file_uploads = On
allow_url_fopen = On
short_open_tag = On
memory_limit = 256M
upload_max_filesize = 100M
max_execution_time = 360

Add churchcrm.conf

• run sudo vim /etc/apache2/sites-available/churchcrm.conf
• add the following code
• change the example.com if you want

<VirtualHost *:80>
     ServerAdmin admin@example.com
     DocumentRoot /var/www/churchcrm
     ServerName example.com
     ServerAlias www.example.com

     <Directory /var/www/churchcrm/>
          Options FollowSymlinks
          AllowOverride All
          Require all granted
     </Directory>

     ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log
     CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined
</VirtualHost>

Enable the ChurchCRM and Rewrite Module

sudo a2enmod rewrite
sudo a2dissite 000-default.conf
sudo a2ensite churchcrm.conf
sudo systemctl restart apache2.service

During ChruchCRM setup

• ignore the integrity check
• make sure the database information is correct

ChurchCRM first time login

• username: admin
• password: changeme

Hi @DAcodedBEAT, I did try the script but I wrote this because the wiki was not added. Maybe you could add into it as well 😁 Maybe a hyperlink to the script could also help as others might be going into wiki to read about it instead of looking into the code 🤗
