It is really hard to make a new post if one does not understand github, Jekyll, markdown ect. Lets try and lower the barrier to entry and make it easier to contribute!

What form would this tutorial be? Screencast? Written tutorial with screenshots?

How do we help designers that just want to contribute design and not front end code?

Any thoughts @una?

Written with screenshots is a better solution than a video for me, because you don't have to pause and rewind during spots. Also, @rhallac, have you seen the contributing docs page? I agree that they could be better, but it can help as an outline

How about making a kind of story/minigame to help them go through and let them have a little fun? More graphics might be more make it seem more approachable for the visual crowd.

Could be good. I'm definitely ok with adding some casual personality as long as we can do it without being cheesy.

Not cheesy is key.

The core of this problem is that contributing an article is difficult. Is making a tutorial around a difficult process the best solution? Or should we figure out how to simplify the process?
