You're comparing Minecraft to Quake, whereas the first is a building/mining/adventure game, the other is purely a fucking First Person Shooter, c'mon. If Minecraft was only about killing, I would have neither touched it, nor allowed my kids into it. They have Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, and so on, to blast each other as much as they want (/s). My opinion. Block glitching is a bug used by very few (and usually toxics) that have the means and practice to exploit it. Remove it and you'll also remove:
Nothing else to say. Remove the bug, make the Mods job (a little) less difficult. -- EDIT -- telling your friends to come vote a "survey" is not gauging the player's feel. None of the votes have expressed any concrete feeling for nor against block-glitching. |

The glitch's origins can be traced back to early versions of EMC, it has been here since I personally first logged on. Some players use this unintended behavior and incorporate it into the way they play the server. Moreover, as my good friend Fruitloopins mention, the glitch became a cultural part of the server after so long without being patch. The glitch add some spices to the game, for example, I remember I fell for a trap in Saskatchewan with a god set and a trident. I survived because of block glitching. If you take off block glitching you let the players that don't grind lay traps around the server, and they cant escape. A simple 1x1x3 with 1 wither rose is enough to trap you and make you loose your gear you probably took hours to grind. People used and are currently building walls and they are taking account of the fact that player with block glitch out of there. Of course this is only my opinion, but if you really want to make a decision you will have to talk more with active players to keep a connection with the community while making everyone happy. I say we keep it for later updates as it has been here for a while and players have gotten used to it and currently play with it. There are downside, but if you really don't want your town's exterior to be ruined then do the work, put some buttons, and stop annoying travellers. I also gotta come back on what keijo said "Remove the bug, make the mods job (a little) less difficult." Mate you signed up for that, it isn't new, it has been there for a while. + its not like you guys do much anyways, the average response time I get for any tickets I ever opened is 2 days !!?? And it's to tell me to wait because other tickets are being processed. The mod team is around the 20 people ( i actually dont know) I can list dozens of people that just wants to be mods, and that would be great at it. If it is that bad then you should look at the application people send you. Because yes, some people actually fill those stuff but you guys are probably too busy to check those. Kloton |

I'm fine either way, but I voted to add it back. While block glitching can be used for toxic things, it has served as a useful mechanism for general quality of life. If it isn't block glitching, players ultimately find alternatives such as trident-ing while it's raining, or enderpearling to the wilderness a claimed area. I'm not sure what specific reasons there are for its removal, but it's really not too large of an issue to me either way. |

i think this poll should be asked outside of github somehow since most wont even be aware of its existence or have a github account |

block glitching adds depth to movement and lets someone "schmoove". really its pretty epic and somewhat skill expressive and getting rid of it gives me cancer so add it back before it becomes terminal |

I was whining to CorruptedGreed about the change and he said to "get a gauge of how players feel" and we can evaluate whether or not it needs to be reverted.
I personally think it should be reverted because while blockglitching is a glitch, as the name says, it has been a long-term part of EarthMC and has cemented itself into the server's "culture". Similarly to how rocket jumping was a bug in Quake that is now a staple feature in many games such as TF2, blockglitching is a staple feature of EarthMC despite being unintended.
