How to add Mentors : Handbook - Watch Video

Mentors List assigned to PAs : List of Projects assigned to Mentors (Contributors can use this to find Mentors)
GSSOC Leaderboard : Place where you can see the score and PR summary (Opens OCT 5 5:00pm)
Ask your Queries : Use only this link to ask query to get answered in ETA 15 min.
Download Onboarding badge : Get your badge and share it on social media
Learn GitHub from Scratch : Complete video tutorials on how to get started with GitHub
Learn about the Leaderboard and badge : Understand how the leaderboard and contribution works.
Missed any Live streams : Watch the past live stream.

Go to the GitHub discussion page (link provided).
Click on the pinned repository to access all resources for project admins and mentors.
Check the Mentor List 📋

Look for the list of mentors assigned to your project.
Search by your repository (e.g., Stack Overflow).
Review the mentor details like LinkedIn and GitHub profiles.
Evaluate Your Mentors 👀

Check their profile and contributions.
If you feel the mentor lacks technical knowledge, you can request a replacement by raising a GitHub discussion with the program manager.

Invite Mentors to Your Organization 📨

Go to Settings in your repository.
Navigate to Collaboration & Teams.
Click on Add People and enter the mentor's GitHub username.
Give them the appropriate access rights (basic rights for now, no merge access).
Set Up Mentor-Admin Communication 💬

Provide your mentors with an overview of your project.
Share your project’s README and branch structure.
Ask them to replicate the repository and give feedback.

Mentors Responsibilities : Handle Issues and Discussions 🛠️

Mentors should raise issues or start discussions about improvements.
Convert discussions into issues for tracking.
Assign labels correctly (e.g., gso, level-1, hacktoberfest).
Assign Tasks to Mentors 👥

For each issue, assign a mentor to handle it based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ensure correct labels and tags are used.
Review Pull Requests 🔄

When mentors or contributors raise a PR, ensure it has the right labels (e.g., gso, level-1).
Only one level label should be assigned (level 1, 2, or 3).

🎃 Hacktoberfest Collaboration:

Add topics like "Hacktoberfest" to your repositories. 🏷️
Suggest improvements and help the admin and contributors. 💡
Use labels like gssoc-ext and hacktoberfest-accepted for issues and PRs. 🏷️

Maintain GitHub Activity 🔄

Encourage mentors and contributors to actively engage on GitHub by creating issues and discussions.
Use GitHub to track progress rather than other platforms like WhatsApp.

Communicate with Mentors 📧

Reach out to mentors via LinkedIn or email with links to helpful videos or instructions.
Have discussions directly on GitHub to keep everything organized.
Raise Concerns About Mentors (If Necessary) 🚩

If a mentor isn’t fulfilling their responsibilities, raise an issue via the GitHub discussion channel.
Reward and Acknowledge Mentors 🎉

If possible, provide perks or sponsorship to your mentors and top contributors as a token of appreciation.
