Is it necessary to ask the project owner to get the project assigned for gssoc'24 extd?

I have found that few people are getting their tasks assigned without even asking to assign them the task.
However, I was not assigned to a few projects for which I solved issues and sent PRs (without asking in the thread to be assigned the task).

So, please clear this doubt

Hi @JOSHITHA6, as being a part of the open source community, the correct way of raising the PR is first you must raise the issue by providing appropriate reasons for why you want this issue to be addressed. If the PA finds it relevant, he/she will assign you the issue. Once assigned, you can create a pull request. This should clear your doubt.
