Cascading worldgen lag #22
Comments
Thanks for the report. This is another consequence of meshing TFC and DT treegen. This will occasionally occur as DT trees grow into unloaded chunks, but may occur even more during exploring as DTTFC attempts to place trees. I had a recent report of this that said it was unreproducible. Can you give an example seed? I hear that the addon isn't functional in the latest TFC builds, so I'll have to rebuild to fix that first. |
Aha, finally. -5874186166028116278 This is on the last update. Both for DTTFC and TFC. |
It is technically use-able. Just very laggy. Read #47. |
That said, I play SSP TNFC with this mod added and had little problems with extra lag, even in ungenned areas. My test machine is pretty much a potato too with CPU and GPU from 2015, but with 6G of ram for MC. |
Well, with many mods DT TFC refuses to work well. |
How much is many? TNFC has 160 mods or so and is fine. Please provide more details. |
I had 130. |
Modpack: Poetica - with some mod additions and all the mods updated (modlist: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/fCSsBBkyfX/)
When exploring, there are constant lag spikes, and the log reads
[21:48:47] [Server thread/WARN]: DynamicTreesTFC loaded a new chunk [-62, 26] in dimension 0 (overworld) while populating chunk [-63, 26], causing cascading worldgen lag. [21:48:47] [Server thread/WARN]: Please report this to the mod's issue tracker. This log can be disabled in the Forge config.
etc. etc. etc.
