Glitching problem

Hi. I builded my first organ instrument witch GO program.
My computer:

• i5-10400
• 32GB RAM HyperX 2x16GB 2666Mhz
• Kingston A2000 M.2 250GB
• Focusrite 2i2 3gen
• Windows 10 64bit

GO Settings:
Buffor 128
Latency 22
Audio quality 96Khz
Audio WASAPI Focusrite

Occasionally, the sound starts to creak terribly while playing. For the problem to end, I have to restart the program. This is very annoying because the organ serves in the church...
I've already tried with different buffer settings, audio quality, changed Windows settings, reinstalled drivers ... unfortunately nothing helps.
Do you have any idea how to fix it?

Panic button also solves the problem but I would like this problem not to occur.

1. Make sure your PC is not connected to the internet or any other network.

2. Your problem may be connected with insufficient memory - what organ are you using?

3. Why do you need an "Audio quality" of 96kHz? Nobody can hear anything above 20kHz and most organs never produce more than half that.

4. Is there anything which triggers the problem, such as pulling a lot of stops and playing chords with couplers engaged? Is the mains power supply reliable and with a stable voltage?

"Creaking" is not a known technical term used by sound engineers. Please explain what you mean.

That should be enough to get started.

I suspect you have been "tinkering" with the "requested latency" which has a default value of 50ms. Try setting this back to the default 50ms and it will probably cure your problem.

Defaults are there for a reason - they will be the correct value for all but exceptional cases. Your computer is not exceptional so trying to push it beyond its limits is likely to cause problems such as the one you are experiencing.

ALL latency figures need to be treated with suspicion. I have never been able to find even a definition of latency and I know that the rise time for the sound to establish in an organ pipe can be anything up to around 100ms so 50ms is a perfectly reasonable figure to aim for. I would regard this figure as negligible and undetectable by an organist.

You have several capabilities

• To increase latency and samples per buffer
• To try to use ASIO driver for your card with a GO build with ASIO enabled (https://github.com/oleg68/GrandOrgue/releases)
• To disable Intel Speed Step (autolowering CPU frequency without on low CPU load) in BIOS

If there is any extra delay you will not notice it!! Do what I suggested above first and see if it cures the problem (leave everything else as it is). I recommend you avoid ASIO like the plague it will have no beneficial effect and could make matters worse.

I changed the latency to 52ms. I did not actually feel a difference in the audio delay. The first mass played without glitch! :) I will continue to watch what will happen.
