I just ran brew update and brew doctor.

brew doctor reports a lot of errors related to casks such as:

Error: Failed to import: android-file-transfer
No available formula for android-file-transfer
Error: Failed to import: audacity
No available formula for audacity
Error: Failed to import: bonjour-browser
No available formula for bonjour-browser
Error: Failed to import: chatology
No available formula for chatology

cask is at the latest version 0.14.1

Not sure how to resolve this. I have 40 errors of this nature, and brew doctor doesn't suggest any solutions.

Please advise

This is a known issue, caused by another. In the meantime, you can solve it with this workaround. It’s not related to the latest update, it happens every time new casks are added (which means you’ll have to use that workaround when that happens).

The “no available formula for” message may be due to something else, though, so please run the workaround first, and report back with your results.

Thanks,

That solved the problems.

Both the Error: Failed to import XXX and the No available formula for XXX messages have been removed.

Is there an ETA on when a more permanent solution will be available so I won't have to run the workaround to solve it?

Unfortunately, no. If you look at the second link in my comment, you’ll notice the problem lies not in homebrew-cask, but in homebrew, which means we’re somewhat dependent on them for the resolution to go forward.
