JabRef version

Latest development branch build (please note build date below)

Operating system

GNU / Linux

Details on version and operating system

Debian Testing, JabRef 5.10

Checked with the latest development build

  • I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

This problem starts randomly, could not trace what triggers it. The most constant situation is that it happens after opening the entry editor.
For some time F4 (open attached file) works fine. Next, after changing the bibliography entry, F4 opens the previous PDF file again, not the one attached to the currently selected entry. After selecting another entry, the first PDF is being opened again. Choosing "Open file" from the context menu always open the correct PDF file. It looks as if F4 does not update the file name to be opened.
