Message type 0x01 device information

You can send this commad to device to get some information from it. Command structure:

  • Byte 1 - cmd len
  • Byte 2 - packet version?
  • Byte 3 - information kind
  • Byte 4 - action (0x02 subscribe, 0x03 unsubscribe, 0x05 single instant get)

Message type 0x04 port information

  • Byte 4 is probably device kind 0x01=device, 0x02=group, 0x00 - no device (detached)

  • Byte 5 is the device type:

    • 0x14 - power voltage ?
    • 0x15 - circuit power (amperage) ?
    • 0x17 LED
    • 0x25 DISTANCE/COLOR SENSOR
    • 0x26 IMOTOR
    • 0x27 MOTOR
    • 0x28 TILT SENSOR

Message type 0x45 sensor reading

Depends on sensor type

Message type 0x82 port changed

  • Byte 4:
    • 0x01 action started
    • 0x05 conflict. New action received while other action is still running
    • 0x0a action finished
    • 0x0e ??

Of course, commands for BOOST motors do nothing with WeDo 2.0 motors
