It looks like if the current file edited in ghostwriter is somehow modified by an external application, ghostwriter can detect the change, but doesn't propose to reload the file. Instead, the file got a * meaning the current state is different from the version on disk, but it implies the version in ghostwriter has some changes which requires to save the file, which might lead to data loss.
The correct way to handle this would be to open a pop up saying " the file xxxx has been modified ouside ghostwriter, should it be reloaded?"
