Pyshark repository's latest release is version 0.6, dated April 26, 2023. Since then, there have been no new releases or significant updates. This raises concerns about the project's current maintenance status and its ability to address existing issues and incorporate new features.

The absence of recent updates may affect the library's compatibility with newer versions of dependencies and limit its functionality for users.

I recommend assessing the current state of the project and considering the following actions:

  • Update the Community: Provide information on the project's current status and future plans to keep users informed.

  • Encourage Contributions: Actively seek contributions from the community to assist in maintaining and enhancing the project. Perhaps make a Contributing.MD file.

  • Review Open Issues and Pull Requests: Address the existing open issues and pull requests to improve the project's stability and functionality.

By taking these steps, the Pyshark project can continue to serve its user base effectively and remain a valuable tool for network packet analysis.
