The Ludum dare's theme of 'Evolution' isn't currently represented in the game in any useful or recognisable fashion.

I think this is an easy one. If we stick with the plan of adding features each level, perhaps with my story (link added below) we can just focus on creating a game right now. Perhaps create an upgrade system of which the triggers just don't appear until the respective level. If anyone has questions about the theme, feel free to ask me on either IRC or wherever. (trust me, I got this one!)

I'd like to add that I like Vivid's Idea, and at this stage it wins points for the fact that we could probably implement it fairly easily.

Or rather than the meta gaming, what if the enemy ships evolved?

  • The AI becomes smarter
    • Dodges obstacles
    • Avoids the player's shots
    • Attacks the player
