This snap is preinstalled in the metamask extension and is tasked with the default ENS resolution work.
However, when the wallet is not connected to mainnet, there is (currently) no way for the snap to connect to mainnet using the RPC URLs configured in the wallet. Therefore, this snap is forced to use its own connection to Ethereum, using Infura.
This feature is planned so this snap will have to get upgraded once that better way of connecting to mainnet is available to name resolution snaps.
