Problem using MikTex 4.6 with LibreOffice, 7.6.4.1, under MACOSX Ventura,

I am trying to use MikTex4.6 with LibreOffice, 7.6.4.1, under MACOSX Ventura, running on an Intel Mac (MP 5,1), to create math.

I am successfully running Miktex with LO 7.6.4.1 under a Windows 10 virtual machine.

When I try to compile even the simplest LaTex under MacOSX and LO, such as
\sqrt{}, I get error messages like

“\write18 enabled” and no output.

What have I not setup to get MikTex working under LO under MACOSX?

As the error states, something is wrong with your PATH variable on macOS:

The description of how to update the path is not really up-to-date. It says to do this:

echo export 'PATH=~/bin:$PATH'>> ~/.bash_profile

However, any macOS freshly installed since Big Sur does not use the bash anymore, but zsh instead, which does not read the file .bash_profile. So, this command has to be added to the file ~/.zshrc instead.
