Deskcription:

Worsened the work of the desktop environment with hybrid graphics due to the presence of glitches.

Example:
https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/6aa9789d-898e-4698-a99f-505f98b393c6

Explain situation:

  • These glitches appear at high monitor refresh rates. At least... at 60Hz I saw them, but to a lesser extent, much. (wayland only)
  • On monitor connected to nvidia gpu

The thread where we discussed the issue may be useful for you to read, I'm not an expert -
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/6033

And of course, I left feedback on this -
https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/nvidia-555-driver-has-glitches/297214 (my message - https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/555-release-feedback-discussion/293652/142)

Not sure I'm following the conversation fully, so you see those glitches on 555 and 560 drivers but not on 550? I don't think I've noticed anything like that myself recently. Are you using egl-wayland from github (1.1.15)?

Hi @sleepppwalker ,

I am part of the QA team at NVIDIA and am trying to reproduce the issue on our systems. Does this continue to reproduce on 560.35.03?
Can you please attach a new NVIDIA bug report collected after you reproduce the issue?

For the boot args on your system, can you please test nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0 instead of NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0? Please let us know if that makes a difference.

Thank you

Hi @abchauhan-nv
Disabled GSP as you recommend
KDE 6.1.5 with env to enable triple buffering KWIN_DRM_DISABLE_TRIPLE_BUFFERING=0
nvidia-bug-report.log.gz

...and it still renders with glitches
