Possible to remove tabs?

I prefer using vertical tabs and I found an option that works with this theme, but the tabs on the top bar are quite distracting. Is there any way I could remove the tabs and make the url bar occupy the entire top bar? I'd been tweaking the css, and while I found a way to make it look good visually, it borked up some other things like the right click menu
