As found in #1980

I haven't got to this yet. If anyone else wants to have a look, that'd be v welcome. Otherwise I'll try and get to this tonight, I'm keen to avoid blocking #1970

(though tbc, this was not a result of merging the Chumsky parser too early — instead it's that we didn't have tests for this, and then found the bug when merging main into #1970)
