The CiviCRM default behaviour is currently to automatically cancel a membership should a connected contribution be cancelled. This, however, interferes with this extension's idea of dealing with membership payments.

We should see if we can solve this in the extension, or whether we need to patch CiviCRM, see here: systopia/civicrm-core@05b40cc
