The key things to know about Openroast are:

  • this is a python 3.5 app
  • the GUI is written in PyQt5
  • there is a strong dependency on the freshroastsr700 package
  • python apps are difficult to turn into user-facing installation packages (but we've scripted the process reliably now!)
