yarn 2 doesn't feel equipped enough to handle our current tech stack / there's some slight misconfiguration going on. i've tried debugging this issue and seeing the root cause but it does not look like anyone else on the internet is using the same tech stack and is also running into the issue.

so lets just downgrade from yarn 2 to yarn 1 instead of pouring more hours into this bug
