CPU usage with a solution open is 20+% on all cores at all times. Minimizing the studio brings it down to ~4%.
Is this normal/expected? It seems a little strange that so many cycles are spent when the studio seemingly does nothing.

Yes it shouldn't happen, probably a recent regression.
