Need to use [ as "escape" to type []{}

I’m using the CRT 1.2.0 build under MacOS 15.1. I can type square brackets or curly braces normally. { pastes some text I’m not entirely sure what is. After typing [ once I can follow it by a bracket or brace character to insert it, e.g. [} will insert a }

This seems to be independent of the process running in CRT, it happens with both bash and nano.
