~~ as for requirements.txt it's unfortunate dependabot only handles the Pipefile if it exists and not both. ~~
dependabot/feedback#435
dependabot/dependabot-core#1946

Solved by running pipenv lock -r > requirements.txt

~~ and commiting, but a hastle in the long run :( ~~

irrelevant, as it's in requirements_dev.txt:

it's not a hard dependency update
