[Feature Request] Gamepad on console style button setups

Is your feature request related to a problem?

I like using a controller like DDR Ultramix 3's setup where the face and dpad are the 4 directions, while also still being able to use the face buttons to use the menu, but i can't set it for both on this.

Describe the solution you'd like

i'd like to had a set of key options that then in menu are Confirm, Select, Back, and whatever other option that also lines up with the buttons in a song (Ex: Down/A is Confirm, Right/B is Back, Left/X is Select, Up/Y could be anything, maybe a quick button to the options/modifiers menu?) I know this program is arcade styled first and foremost, but i just wanted to ask nicely if you haven't thought of it yet, as i always liked playing DDR, ITG, and even the latest project outfox release with a controller.

good luck with the rest of the programming for this game, i can't wait to see it on steam.

i never got any response for this aside from it being made a discussion, has it just been marked as "maybe we'll do it, maybe not." or has it been tossed? i want it for alpha 5 at least since i use a dualsense controller and would like to have ddr ultramix's button setup or DDR Grand Prix's (Official New DDR PC Game, Japanese text only for now) ability to assign the face buttons to Accept, Back, Select, Etc for menu mode, and have them be arrows in song mode.
this could be made possible with a "MenuStart,Down", "MenuBack,Right", "MenuSelect,Up" and "MenuSort,Left" set of buttons, or make it so you can bind the menu keys separate from the song keys, so config could look like this:
(These are based on an Xbox controller's button numbers in windows controller test)

Menu Controls
Up - Joy1 H-Up
Down - Joy1 H-Down
Left - Joy1 H-Left
Right - Joy1 H-Right
Start - Joy1 Button1
Select - Joy1 Button4
Back - Joy1 Button2
Sort - Joy1 Button3

Song Controls

I don't know how to code, nor do i know the code inside stepmania/project outfox, so i'm writing my ideas here, please give it a look through and tell me your thoughts, i'd love to have this in an update, especially for the steam playtest, you could even have a theme setting that replaces the arcade buttons with a dpad and the face buttons at some point with options for Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo layouts, it'd look great for at home dance mats without an arcade button stand too.
