Gutenberg doesn't know how to chnage color of words highlighted in paragraph. Is that true?

For the sake of God, how one is supposed to highlight and change the color of a single or multiple words in paragraph block?
You can change background color, you can change the color of entire text. Cool.

My client asked me how to and I was stunned coz it looks like there's no other way but to edit paragraph as HTML and use SPAN with a chunk of an inline style.

...however, is it really necessary to install another plugin just to be able to perform that simple task? While on the other side we have such a "mighty" editor named Gutenberg. By me, that's a shame.
In that sense, migrating from TinyMCE to Gutenberg is like replacing good old racing horse with a donkey that looks like Kim Kardashian - while still trying to win the race.

@dameer it could be one of those tasks that some people think is absolutely necessary but that most people do not need. Perhaps if the plugin is installed enough times it could be included by default in the future? Though I will say that it's worth questioning what formatting options are really really needed as defaults because if you add one every time someone says it's necessary without knowing for sure or for how many people then it's easy to get into a place where there are way too many options and eventually the UI becomes harder and harder to use. It's a balance! And that's why I think sometimes tasks like changing the color of a word are wanted as a plugin first.

We had another request for this feature in 1771212-zen. The user is on our free plan, so it isn't possible to install a plugin for this. In the meantime I invited the user to use our Classic block to manage the color.
