I wanted to fork the package
@php-wasm/stream-compression
to customize for my own purposes. (I usedgit-subtree
to split it from the monorepo, and created a standalone repo for it that can sync changes from upstream.)Reading up on it, I understand it's necessary for the forked library to be licensed as GPL2 and above, and cannot be re-licensed to MIT. (The opposite direction MIT -> GPL2 is apparently acceptable, but that doesn't apply in this case.)
Aside from the license and attribution where the library originated, is there anything else I should be aware of, to do this respectfully and according to community etiquette?
