Original issue 855 created by Omertron on 2009-06-05T17:43:57.000Z:

Series: Doctor Who (2005)

Files are named in the format

Doctor Who (2005) 4x01 - Partners in Crime.avi

When I go to season 4 (which aired in 2008) detail page the year displayed
is 2005. This is the same for all seasons. All of my other tv series
display the correct year that the season started in.

Please use the

This isn't invalid. I tried a work around in the NFO files, but the issue still exists.

I've attached the xml generated for the second season of Doctor Who (2005) the
element is 2005, but that season was broadcast in 2006.

Ok,
in the nfo you put :

http://thetvdb.com/banners/fanart/original/78804-23.jpg
2006

AAA

I say just in comment# 3, that year is not valid inside tvshow, use premiered instead,
like this for season 2

78804 http://thetvdb.com/banners/seasons/78804-2-3.jpg http://thetvdb.com/banners/fanart/original/78804-23.jpg 2008-01-01 AAA

premiered does work as a work-around.

But this is still an issue in my mind. Having a year in the file name shouldn't
override the year for each season. Especially if having the year in the filename is
one way to get YAMJ to find the right show on thetvdb.com

Nice for the workaround (it's not a workaround, it's the purpose of nfo file).

So now, on the issue you'r talking, can you explain to me ?
I really don't understand, cause if i make a search on thetvdb whith :
Doctor Who (2005), i find a serie, which have First Aired: March 26, 2005

So 2005 is the year for this one.
Where do you find 2008 in thetvdb for Doctor Who (2005) ?

Ok, take a series with out the year in the title. Dexter

Here is my xml for season 4

and here is thetvdb.com entry for the first episode in that season

http://thetvdb.com/?tab=episode&seriesid=79349&seasonid=41602&id=446798&lid=7

Each season year should be independent from the year in the title. Only the first
season will match that year.

I must be dumb, i really don't understand.
Here you show me dexter saison 4
In thetvdb it's 2009, in you xml it's 2009 ...
Where the pb ?

Did you say that if i name dexter saison 4 like :
Dexter (2000) s04e01.mkv
i should have 2009 in the year in xml ??

Yes, if it was Dexter (2000) s04e01.mkv then currently 2000 would be the year in xml,
when it really should be 2009.

Ok, since the year was taken from Filename, it must be overwrite by the "first"
plugin who find the year (NFO or thetvdb).

I see what you mean know, sorry for all the questions.

I'm agree with you on this behavior.

Just noticed all movies (from imdb) have
UNKNOWN

in xml. E.g. Unknown[2006].mkv (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450340).

reverting to r1475 fixes the missing years
