## WHAT IS IT?
According to Herzberg's Two Factor Theory, when individuals are dsatisfied in their jobs they report factors associated to their place in the job, motivation factors. When individuals report dissatisfaction, they report factors associated with the job context, hygiene factors. In Herzberg's original studies he identified the primary factors contributing to satisfaction as Achievement, Recognition, the Work Itself, Responsibility, and Advancement. The Hygiene factors found most contributing to dissatisfaction in his studies were Company Policy and Adminstration, Technical Supervision, Interpersonal Relations, Salary, and Working Conditions. In this way improving hygiene factors does not create satisfaction but rather removes the impediments to the factors that lead to satisfaction.
