"Regular" style confused between Roman and Italic in VAR 1.012 #256

Yep. What I did though, was to remove the annoying glyph Surprisingly, the slanted was recognized along with the variant family of semibold, bold, medium, and even light. The roman family too. How could this be? |
Sorry, I seem to have messed up the VAR fonts with the latest patch release. Am working to get a fix out ASAP. |
Since updating the variable fonts from 1.010 to 1.012, my system (Arch Linux) mistakenly uses the italic face for "Source Code Variable" "Regular".
I think this is an error in the font, with the extra light italic face having the wrong style information:
