Week of March 26 - April 2, 2023 in Darker: Release 1.7.1 and progress on Flynt compatibility

1.7.1 bugfix release

We released Darker 1.7.1 on March 26th with several improvements and bug fixes. The new version uses git worktree for baseline linting, addressing previous issues with git clone and git checkout. We also temporarily limited Flynt to versions before 0.78 due to an internal API incompatibility, which will be resolved in the upcoming 1.8.0 release.

Ongoing work

Work is underway to fix compatibility with Flynt 0.78 and 1.0.0 (PR #480), addressing issues #472 and #541. This update will allow Darker to work seamlessly with the latest Flynt versions. We also made improvements to our GitHub Actions, fixing an issue where the commit-range action wasn't working correctly in release branches.
