December 16-22, 2024 in Darker: Bug reports and CI maintenance

A new bug report (#785) details unexpected behavior where Darker reformats more of the file than just the modified sections, particularly around string literals and indentation. The issue provides a detailed test case showing how formatting changes propagate beyond the modified lines. Meanwhile, another user reported (#778) that Darker requires --diff or --check flags when using revisions up to HEAD, along with a version display discrepancy showing 1.2.1 instead of 2.1.1.

Work continues on CI improvements with two open pull requests: a fix for trailing spaces in our dependabot.yml configuration (#786) and ongoing refinements to GitHub Actions caching (#773) that now includes improved cache path globbing patterns.
