Is there a list of permissions and what each is responsible for?

We're trying to create read-only views for some of our customers and I can't tell what some of the permissions actually do based on their names. We have a really paired down Role, and the permissions "look" OK, but when a user with this Role logs in they get a bunch of errors: https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOukjlEE. I'm having a hard time finding out exactly why.
