It doesn't work on .net 8.0

I have .net installed but it wont work. still keeps saying it needs .NET installed. i tried to downgrade and was told not to as I have the latest version and others will get end of life.

if you have compiled it yourself, it uses .net7. if you've downloaded the exe then use .net5

downloaded both and still tells me to install .NET
