Small Talk

Description

Have you ever found the beginning of a meeting to be awkward and silent? No More! With the Small Talk Generator, get access to everything happening around the world where your team is located. Want to talk about the weekend? Look at the weather for you and your team all in one place. Small Talk Generator will present a dashboard of widgets tailored to topics you and your team find interesting. So pull it up at the beginning of a meeting and take a break from "Zoom Fatigue"!

User Story

AS A(N) team member
I WANT see what is going on in the cities where my team is located
SO THAT we can avoid the awkward silence at the beginning of a meeting and build a stronger team.

Acceptance Criteria

Below is a list of all the requirements for the project.

Project Requirements

  • Use a CSS framework other than Bootstrap.
  • Be deployed to GitHub Pages.
  • Be interactive (i.e., accept and respond to user input).
  • Use at least two server-side APIs.
  • Does not use alerts, confirms, or prompts (use modals).
  • Use client-side storage to store persistent data.
  • Be responsive.
  • Have a polished UI.
  • Have a clean repository that meets quality coding standards (file structure, naming conventions, follows best practices for class/id naming conventions, indentation, quality comments, etc.).
  • Have a quality README (with unique name, description, technologies used, screenshot, and link to deployed application).

Grading Requirements

In addition to the Project Requirements above:

  • CORS -> All APIs used must allow CORS without any workarounds
  • Git Commits -> Every group member must have at least 15+ Git Commits with Good commit messages on their personal branches
  • Application deployed at live URL and loads with no errors.
  • Application GitHub URL submitted.
  • Repository has a unique name.
  • Repository follows best practices for file structure and naming conventions.
  • Repository follows best practices for class/id naming conventions, indentation, quality comments, etc.
  • Repository contains multiple descriptive commit messages.
  • Repository contains a quality README file with description, screenshot, and link to deployed application.
  • Application user experience is intuitive and easy to navigate.
  • Application user interface style is clean and polished.
  • Application is responsive.
  • Your group should present using the deployed site.
  • Every group member should speak during the presentation.
  • There are no major disparities in the number of GitHub contributions between group members.

Installation

To fork this code to further improve the website, please follow these directions:

  1. In Github fork the repository.
  2. Clone the repository to your local computer.

This assumes that you have setup your own SSH keys to connect with Github.
