Modal edits refresh poorly #161

Modal edits are not refreshing quite right -- the new Paragraphs item gets nested in a partial remnant of the old Paragraphs item, and the modal dropbutton doesn't render or work correctly after the refresh.

I have a fix that reworks the refresh a bit, re-rendering the new Paragraphs item and then massaging things a bit in a way that seems to work more smoothly.
