Copying nothing (collapsed selection) from Trix editor empties clipboard #425

In no other context – native macOS inputs or other web inputs in Chrome – does copying nothing (a collapsed selection) actually carry out a copy action, thus emptying the clipboard by overwriting the current value with an empty string. This does, however, happen in my app’s Trix editor.

I do not experience the same behavior with Basecamp’s comment editor, for instance, so I wonder if there’s some configuration I’ve overlooked, or if there’s any special, custom sauce in there to prevent this weirdness?

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Make sure to have something in the clipboard
  2. Focus an empty Trix editor
  3. Copy (Cmd+C)
  4. Paste (Cmd+V)
Details
  • Trix 0.10.1
  • Google Chrome 58
  • macOS Sierra
