User Story

As a legal professional using the skeleton version, I want to be able to initiate the process of adding a significant individual (SI) from the Company Information page, so that I can understand the basic functionality of the skeleton version.

Notes

The Company Information page is the starting point for the 'skeleton' version of the Add Significant Individuals functionality.
Looks like Directors table but will have a change button at the top right.
Initial state is empty.

Instructions

Add a change link that opens the Significant Individual Change standalone page

@J-Baese @forgeuxGH5 we have had more recent discussions on this. Our current approach was to have the SI filing launched from the company dashboard. Design enabled view of the SI's in the company information screen but in line with the way directors were handled, there was no option to launch the filing from that page. Given our approach I believe this can be closed.

Any concerns?

It should be in both places at some point - we'd a have to see what the final design would look like before feeling comfortable to say if it could be just the dashboard for MVP - and it would need usability testing.

  1. We haven't finished the design for the dashboard view and there's a lot of detail in a person's record - I'm not sure we get all of that into the small space on the dashboard widget. Also that widget wasn't designed to scale to hundreds of people - we'd need to know how many people there would be on that page (directors and SI's). That widget was designed for the average number of directors of a BC business - 6 to 8.
  2. The Company Information page is a summary/reflection of ALL information the government has on file for my business - one place to see and do everything I need to do. This a very simple, expected, memorable, and common design pattern. If SI info isn't there it breaks this conceptual model, and then I need to figure out where the SI info is and how the change is done. It might not be (probably wouldn't be?) immediately visible on the dashboard with the current design of the dashboard widgets.

@forgeuxGH5 the intent is that information still shows on the Company Information page. However, like directors, on the company information page there is nowhere to launch a change. That change is initiated from the dashboard. Since SI's are another 'person' type record it seems more logical to follow this pattern where they also show, but don't launch from that point for MVP. With this clarity is there concern? If so, lets chat this through before I do anything on the ticket.

Yeah - directors doesn't work the way we want it to yet :-( But obviously accepted as an MVP. Directors are intended to be able to change from the Company Info page at some point. Entities team almost did it but changed course and I can't remember why.

I'd still be concerned with people finding ability to change their info for SI's.

Directors is easier - it was designed to be visible on the vast majority of screensizes, it doesn't get pushed down the screen by default so it's always pretty visible.

Here's that dashboard for someone with a 1024x768 display:

We can dig into display resolution frequencies again, but in any case you can see the issue.

But if we are showing the SI info on the Company Info page all we'd need to do would be to put an "Add" or "Change" button on the there too.

Thank you for clarifying the issue above and in our checkpoint today. As discussed this will definitely add value, but will be scope for post MVP. A secondary approach for launching the filing can be tackled through the "To Do" list as part of MVP, much like AR.

I'm going to move this from icebox into our post mvp epic, and then create a design ticket for the To-Do list under the epic #20189 (Integration with Modernized Corporation Filings).

Will create new dev tickets when we groom the designs.
