Investigate - Names Request - Payment Delayed for over a month #18759
Comments
For NR 4055489, the transaction_start_time is 2023-06-27 21:57:15.331837 and transaction_end_time is 2023-08-03 05:15:34.58675, which means this transaction was delayed on PayBC side for some reasons (not on BCROS side). For NR 1844522, the same reason as above Anything else we need to do for this ticket? |
I am not sure where this ticket should be moved to after investigation. If you are satisfied with the result, then you can close this ticket. If not, please let me know what else you want to investigate more. |
Thanks for helping to get to the bottom of this. I agree that NRs probably should not be created until payment is "successful". Is this aspect still being looked into as workable? I don't think listing DRAFT NRs according to payment status is good unless it's somehow explained and accepted by the client prior to submitting. Otherwise clients are going to assume they are "in line" with reference to the estimated wait times on the NRA site. |
@iamjtodd i think this one just got stuck...normally they should get processed right away. are you ok if we close this ticket, and if you see another one related to delay payment on paybc side we could reach out and see how can fix this. let me know what actions you would like my team to take. |
@iamjtodd i will close this one. if we want to do any work on this ticket we can create a new one with the bug fix information on it. |

Impact of this bug
Please investigate why payment was taken via credit card several days after the initial submission. And perhaps some alternative suggestions for a remedy. (Ie. Maybe it's better to organize the Standard Draft NRs in NAMEX by payment successful date rather than submission date?). Also, the system should be creating NRs if payment has not come through.
