Brave won't start but related processes are running

  • Since last update, and after having installed the extension OneTab (uninstalled since), closing Brave and trying to reopen it again won't work : Brave don't start (not showing up) but I can see the processes running. I can kill them and try again, but without success either way.
  • as a workaround, I can delete and/or replace the Default/Preferences file to get Brave to show up again, but it's quite annoying
and impractical, to say the least.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Closing Brave
  2. Reopen it again

Expected result:

  • I would like to find a way to stop this behavior without losing session/tabs/preferences or having to reinstall the whole thing.

Reproduces how often:

  1. Happens everytime now

Configuration :

Fedora 32 x64 xfce

  • Unfortunately, there aren't any logs for this issue (since the processes are running, everything seems fine and trigger no reports)

Any idea I should try please ?

@didli Our latest is 1.14.84, can you update to that version and let us know if you're still running into this issue?
cc: @Brave-Matt Can you take a look when you get a chance?
