Open source projects are driven by an interest in success shared by the project's creators and users. While the end goal is a community actively working to improve the product they use, we can work to incentivize participation.
The details
We will develop a set of incentives for contributors. These will range from IBM badges to swag to bug bounties. The Carbon team is moving away from "levels" of contribution, but we still acknowledge the scope and scale of contributions vary wildly.
This project will require determining how we determine the size of a reward, how we deliver the reward, and how we quantify the results to focus future investment where it's most effective.
