On an iPad 9th Generation, model number MK2K3LL/A version 16.3.1 and version 15.6. As well as an iPhone 13 version 16.3. They all respond the same way, only speaking the first symbol selected.
Works great on the iPad 5th Generation, MP2F2LL/A version 16
