@nataliafitzgerald and @ajbush did a lot of work with line graphs for Consumer credit trends.

Take a look at: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/data-research/consumer-credit-trends/credit-cards/origination-activity/

Some of the main things are:

• using color AND line weight to differentiate between lines
• using a dashed line to show projected data
• having a CSV of the raw data to improve transparency and accessibility.
