first-time click on cyrillic a label doesn't change to punycode

Regarding example "URL uses Cyrillic a in its own label".

URL does not change to punycode on first click, but will change to punycode on any subsequent click.
Happens for modified test code (liangcyn's version, with the Cyrillic a change).
This only happens if it's the first click on example.com (not if you click on something else, then back to that link).

EDIT: on first click, omnibox shows latin a character instead of Cyrillic a.

Interesting! This seems to me like it'd be a bug in Chrome, I'll take a look.
