@mnhrdt could you turn on the Issues tab in your fork https://github.com/mnhrdt/xml2 ?

Or alternatively if @clone agrees, could you make a pull request with your changes to this repo?

Thanks!

@cryptorick how about your documentation changes? Willing to make a PR or rather maintain a fork (maybe we all could agree on just one fork - technically speaking this repo is already one 😉 - and have all the changes there).

Btw. for those interested what Dan had in mind (and also referenced in his "mini documentation"), refer to Pyxie: https://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/03/15/feature/index.html (a line-oriented data exchange format for hierarchical data).

I'm not sure that my changes are of general interest because they remove the entire autoconf setup. They seem to work on ubuntu 22.04, openbsd 7.1 and macos catalina, but any new system is likely to require slight makefile adaptations.

but any new system is likely to require slight makefile adaptations.

Which is less work than to maintain autoconf (and wait for its slowness)...

Ok, I do the PR and you make whatever you want with it.
